A few weeks ago I set forth a challenge -to write 1000 words a day, every day, during the summer months.

Admittedly, I have fallen a bit behind. I took a few days off to climb in Nevada and didn’t write a single word. I had planned on writing, it just didn’t happen. Vacation mode hit my brain and whoosh every “I should…” vanished.

But I can say that prior to the trip and no, post trip, I am back on track. I’ve found that I am able to get the words down if I use pen and paper or my iPad. Instead of turning on my computer first thing in the morning (which is incredibly distracting for me) I drink my coffee, stretch, meditate for a few minutes and then open my iPad text writer app and get started.

The subsequent result because everything is either hand written or in a text document is that I don’t really know how many words I’ve written. However, I do know based on a good eye for estimation that I’m averaging 1000 or more words daily.

Soooo…

How are you doing? Are you meeting the challenge?

Don’t let little things like no idea where the story is going to go from here stop you. Simply sit down and start writing.

I promise, by the end of the summer you’ll be thrilled with your productivity!
