Time: One to two hours

Action Step #1 – Grab a pen and paper.

Action Step #2 – Brainstorm potential external conflicts between a hero and a heroine. An external conflict is when the character is when an external force causes the conflict. (Internal conflict is when the conflict is in their own mind.)  For example, an external conflict could be a snowstorm.

Let loose with this one. Allow yourself to think outside of the norm and outside of the box. Brainstorming external conflicts will help you come up with original and engaging storylines.

Action Step #3 Optional. Brainstorm potential resolutions to your conflicts.
